Diogo Freitas

Graphic Designer

BA(Hons), MA(Hons)

Diogo joined Orms in 2022 as a graphic designer and has since developed a strong focus on signage and wayfinding—an increasingly vital yet often overlooked component of the built environment. Collaborating closely with architectural and interiors teams, he develops context-aware strategies that quietly reinforce architectural intent and historical context. Recent projects include 101 Moorgate, 33 Jermyn Street, The Ribbon, 1 Hanover Street, and 75 London Wall. Diogo also helps shape Orms’ brand identity and communications, ensuring that graphic design supports clarity and coherence across both studio culture and public-facing materials.

What does ultrapractical mean to you? Having worked across visual design, illustration, marketing, and advertising in the UK , Portugal and Spain, I’ve developed a sensitivity to how visual language responds to different cultural and spatial contexts. It’s an approach that reflects Orms’ Ultrapractical ethos: design that is thoughtful, responsive, and grounded in real-world use. With a background in Visual Design & Theory of Visual Culture, I combine both practical and critical tools, while earlier experience in branding and editorial continues to shape my approach to hierarchy, tone and intent.
