Oliver joined Orms in August 2014 after studying at the Leicester School of Architecture, bringing valuable experience from his work in Cheshire on leisure sector projects spanning new build schemes and the redevelopment of listed buildings. His portfolio at Orms includes leading the delivery of The Ribbon on Oxford Street, the Project Architect delivering the Outernet—a new entertainment district comprising 250,00ft2 of new and refurbished buildings and significant contributions to 79-86 Chancery Lane and No1 New Oxford Street—a prominent landmark building from the art moderne period in London. These projects have developed his expertise in sensitively adapting historic structures while introducing contemporary interventions that enhance functionality and user experience.

What does ultrapractical mean to you? Ultrapractical architecture means applying rigorous technical knowledge to deliver complex design solutions. While working to deliver the Outernet, I focused on the new build and basement venue elements leading coordination—ensuring that design ambitions translate into buildable reality through meticulous digital modelling and cross-disciplinary collaboration. My participation in the detail design panel and technical quality review working group at Orms further demonstrates my commitment to excellence in architectural detailing and technical resolution. This combination of creative design thinking with practical delivery expertise allows me to create spaces that are both inspiring and functional.
