Nick joined Orms in 2015 and studied at The University of Edinburgh, Universidad CEU San Pablo Madrid and London Metropolitan University where he developed an interest in conservation, retrofit and sustainability. His approach combines diverse cultural perspectives with practical expertise in extending the lifespan of existing buildings while minimising environmental impact through thoughtful, resource-efficient design solutions.

What does ultrapractical mean to you? Ultrapractical means creating architecture that delivers genuine environmental benefits alongside exceptional design. At Orms, I've applied this philosophy across commercial, interiors and education projects including The Standard Hotel, 160 Old Street and most recently to deliver 101 Moorgate, an oversite mixed-use development above Moorgate station in the City of London. As a champion of low carbon design, I support colleagues across the practice in reducing embodied carbon, translating sustainability aspirations into measurable, achievable outcomes.
