A buzzy central London head office for one of the world’s leading public relations agencies.
Hill+Knowlton is a global public relations agency which helps shape the reputation of some of the world’s best-known brands and businesses. With a philosophy based around open dialogue and connectivity, the agency’s offices needed to embody these values and demonstrate the buzz and creativity of the organisation. Hill+Knowlton had previously worked with Orms and the practice’s understanding of the character and spirit of the agency made them an obvious choice for the fit-out of the London head office on Soho Square.
The 1920s building has an impressive Portland stone façade and had recently been modernised when Orms began work to shape the interior. The refurbishment extends over six floors, giving the agency its own front door and reception area with secure, but shared, lift access to the intermediate working floors. Placed at ground floor, the reception also incorporates a bar and spaces for informal meetings which are actively used by staff and clients. Desks on the open-plan office floors above are placed around the perimeter to benefit from natural light, while visual order is provided throughout by vivid yellow panels which mark the support functions to the centre of the floorplate. The top floor spaces, with their breathtaking views and more controlled environment, are dedicated to client and presentation rooms, and a cutting edge wi-fi conference suite.
