William joined Orms in 2023, bringing a passion for sustainable design and historical architecture. With a First-Class degree from Liverpool University, he works on retrofit projects across London, notably contributing to a 1980s office building transformation through RIBA Stages 1 and 2, creating detailed architectural models and drawings.
William prepares CAT A and B fit-out packages, and coordinates with team members to align project goals with client requirements. Through site visits, he builds practical construction knowledge while maintaining his commitment to sustainable design solutions.
What does ultrapractical mean to you? Ultrapractical architecture finds the balance between respecting history and embracing innovation. Working on retrofit projects at Orms has shown me how thoughtful design can breathe new life into existing buildings while reducing environmental impact. I believe the most effective solutions emerge when we combine technical knowledge with a deep understanding of context, creating spaces that are both functional and meaningful. By approaching each challenge with creativity and pragmatism, we can develop architecture that responds to real-world constraints while still inspiring those who experience it.
