Steph joined Orms in 2023, working on a 17,000sqm commercial retrofit project through Planning and Stage 3. Her focus on sustainability includes developing tender packages and specifications to maximise material reuse. Previously, she gained experience at Neil Davies Architects and AR Design Studio, working on residential projects and technical drawings.
A First-Class graduate from Bath University, Steph combines technical abilities with creative thinking. She has delivered interiors packages, CDM documentation and managed BIM models to LOIN Level 3 standards. She volunteers for educational initiatives including the London Festival of Architecture and has a background in dance performance, enhancing her spatial awareness and collaborative approach.
What does ultrapractical mean to you? Ultrapractical design means finding creative solutions that embrace sustainability through thoughtful reuse and adaptation. Working on retrofit projects at Orms has shown me how existing buildings can be transformed through careful analysis and innovative interventions. I believe the most successful architecture emerges when we balance technical requirements with human experience, creating spaces that are both practical and delightful. By listening carefully to clients, consultants and end-users, we can develop designs that are responsive to both immediate needs and longer-term environmental considerations.
