Architect

BA, MArch, ARB, RIBA

Steph joined Orms in 2021, having completed her Masters at the Welsh School of Architecture, Cardiff University and qualified as an Architect with RIBA North West. Her global perspective has been shaped by experience across projects in the UK, America and Australia, including work delivering timber 'build back better' projects in Fiji—creating small-scale structures designed to withstand adverse weather conditions. This international experience complements her growing portfolio of UK projects.

What does ultrapractical mean to you? Ultrapractical architecture means creating solutions that respond precisely to both context and user needs. At Orms, I've applied this approach across diverse projects, coordinating technical packages at 20 Air Street for The Crown Estate and producing detailed feasibility reports for commercial refurbishment schemes in central London. My work achieving planning consent for a Grade II listed Cricket Pavilion in Rutland demonstrated how sensitive intervention can respect heritage while enhancing functionality. More recently, I’ve led technical packages for 55–58 Pall Mall, carefully balancing technical precision with spatial quality. I’m currently the Project Architect for Mercury House, an extensive refurbishment that carefully delivers a distinctive design with technically demanding and complex spaces.
