Olivia joined Orms in 2023, bringing five years of experience from Warren and Mahoney in New Zealand. She holds a Bachelor of Architectural Studies and Masters of Architecture (Professional) with Honours from The University of Auckland, complemented by a semester abroad at Lund University, Sweden. In New Zealand, she was part of the team that delivered 90 Devonport Road, the country's largest mass timber office building.
What does ultrapractical mean to you? Working across commercial, aged care and multi-residential sectors has shaped my understanding of how architecture can respond to diverse needs through practical innovation. At Orms, I'm applying this experience to Mercury, a commercial refurbishment in central London, where I manage multiple packages and coordination. To me, ultrapractical means finding elegant solutions that balance technical requirements with human-centred design. Drawing from my experience with mass timber construction, I approach each project with a focus on sustainability and efficiency without compromising on design quality or user experience
