Nathalie joined Orms in 2023 with a diverse background spanning multiple practices. She previously worked at Seven Architecture, followed by nearly two years at Heatherwick Studio where she contributed to 19 different projects including Little Island, Airo, and Olympia. Prior to her architectural studies, Nathalie lived in Rome and Florence, studying perspective drawing, life drawing, and learning Italian. She holds a Foundation Diploma from Leeds College of Arts, a Bachelor of Arts from University of Greenwich, and a Masters of Architecture from University of Edinburgh, where her projects focused on creating thriving communities through a circular economy, a principle which has followed through into her practice at Orms.
What does ultrapractical mean to you? At Orms, I've been working on various projects, but have spent most of my time seeing through the internal packages for retrofit project 33 Jermyn Street. Being ultrapractical means applying my diverse experience and interests in sustainable practice to create spaces that are functional, inspiring, and inclusive. Beyond my project work, I contribute to the office wellbeing team, help to organise internal talks, run my own illustration business, and am currently studying for my Part 3 qualification at the University of Westminster. This multidisciplinary approach informs my architectural practice, bringing creativity and practicality together.
