Joanna joined Orms in 2025, bringing over 10 years of post-Part III experience across commercial, education and adaptive reuse projects. She has successfully led design teams through all RIBA work stages, from concept development to construction completion, with notable expertise in workplace refurbishment and complex urban sites. Joanna excels at collaborating with clients, contractors and consultants to deliver technically robust solutions, as demonstrated in her award-winning work and challenging retrofit projects in central London.

What does ultrapractical mean to you? Ultrapractical means finding innovative solutions to complex challenges through rigorous interrogation of each project's unique context and constraints. It requires balancing creative design with technical feasibility, sustainability requirements and client aspirations. At Orms, I apply my experience in adaptive reuse to transform existing buildings into modern, vibrant spaces that respond sensitively to their surroundings while meeting contemporary needs. This approach combines practical problem-solving with forward-thinking design to create architecture that is both functional and inspiring.
