Helen joined Orms in 2025 after completing a dual degree in Urban Design and Architectural Studies and Comparative Literature at New York University, where she was recognized as the most likely to succeed in the field of Urban Design and Architecture in her year. Her thesis – ‘Memorialization in the Modern City’ – explored conceptions of post-conflict urban heritage and was also recognized as the best honours thesis in the humanities. She brings experience in architectural writing and communications from her work at SPACED: Gallery of Architecture and PIN-UP Magazine, where she worked on projects including folios of Le Corbusier and Tony Garnier prints, and interviews with Emilio Ambasz, Andres Jaque, and Sumayya Vally.
What does ultrapractical mean to you? Being ultrapractical at Orms means deep consideration about how the modern built environment affects the people who live in it. Orms has extensive experience in delivering responsive and generous architecture, and I aim to honestly communicate how we engage function, social benefit, sustainability, and heritage in our work.
